Cal Cool 71021 is a premium, semi-synthetic metalworking fluid formulated for use in a variety of metalworking operations, especially those requiring a superior micro-finish. This formulation contains no sulfur or phosphorous compounds. Cal Cool 71021 contains a blend of boundary lubricants, corrosion inhibitors, and biologically resistant additives in an emulsifiable, highly refined base oil which exhibits excellent bio-stability for long sump life. Cal Cool 71021 makes clear, stable micro-emulsions in water even in the presence of elevated levels of hard water salts. Auxiliary ingredients reduce the heat generated during metal removal operations. Lower operating temperatures result in extended tool life, improved ability to maintain dimensional tolerances, and much improved surface finishes on the work piece.
Cal Cool 71021 is recommended for a multitude of metal removal operations including turning, milling, reaming, drilling, ID and OD grinding, sawing, tapping, and broaching of most ferrous allows, including high alloys and stainless, and a variety of nonferrous metals including aluminum. Although it is safe for contact with brass, bronze and copper, long term or exclusive use for machining yellow metals is not recommended. While providing excellent swarf and chip handling characteristics, Cal Cool 71021 demonstrates excellent corrosion inhibition and foam control in critical operations.
